Print: Baxter CL 94 – Used exclusively as the frontispiece to the book ‘British India’ by William Campbell

 

Under the print is the title and “Printed in Oil Colours by G. Baxter (Patentee), 3, Charterhouse Square, London.  Published by J. Snow, Paternoster Row."  Bangalore was a London Missionary Society station in Mysore, where William. Campbell, the author of the book, was located.

Condition: Very good colours, paper loss to top and bottom left hand corners and an old repaired tear 2 cm long to the left hand edge under and well clear of the print. Signs of being removed from the book to the right hand edge. There is a library stamp on the reverse, one part of which is very slightly visible on the front, please image.
