Print: Baxter - CL 263 - A companion print to No. 267 "So Nice!"  Sometimes called "So Nasty!" as that is what is engraved under the print on the steel plate - "'So Nasty.' Engraved, Printed, and Published Nov. 11, 1854, by George Baxter, Inventor and Patentee of Oil Colour Picture Printing, 11 & 12, Northampton Square" - "I don't like it!" is the title when on Baxter’s embossed seal and shows a child refusing to take the medicine.

 

When offered for sale on the likes of EBay they often describe the child crying and mentioned a badminton racket and shuttlecock. In fact this is that games forerunner, battledore.

 

It is signed bottom left of the print "Published Nov.  11, 1854, by George, Baxter, Proprietor and Patentee,"

 

It was produced from a plate and eight zinc blocks, and was originally sold at 1s. 6d.

State: On embossed stamped mount over mounted in modern card

 

Condition: Very good colours, light toning to the mount under the over mount
