Print: Baxter - CL 211 – The print shows the then Prince of Wales who became King Edward VII after the death of Queen Victoria. He is aged about eight and dressed in sailor costume and said to be landing at Osborne, where Queen Victoria had then recently acquired a home. 

 

The ribbon on his hat denotes his ship as the Prince of Wales, that name is also on the side of the landing tender, the fleet is in the distance. 

 

Signed on the right, "Printed in Oil Colours and Published by G.  Baxter, Patentee, 11, Northampton Square," It was produced from twelve blocks and originally sold at 6d.

State: On original Blue Lined Mount (BLM) as issued by Baxter

 

Condition: The print is pristine, minor creasing and small mark to mount
