Print: Le Blond - LB41, CL16. A shipwreck just off the coast and a rowing boat heads towards to rescue the sailors, or salvage the cargo?

Possibly based on the exploits of Grace Darling who in in 1838 had become a national hero after helping her father rescue the survivors of the Paddle Steamer Forfarshire from the Longstone Lighthouse in Northumberland where she and her family lived.

Fully signed 'Le Blond & Co Licencees' which is unusual as so many copies have had the signature removed by scratching out a small area of print bottom right, done in the 1920’s to pass them off as by Baxter
