Print: Baxter CL 360 - It is signed on the bottom step "Published September 1st, 1853, by G. Baxter, Proprietor and Patentee, London,"


This well-known print shows a chimney sweep knocking at the door of Baxter’s premises 11 Northampton Square, the plaque on the door states "G. Baxter, Offices No. 12".

 

It was produced from a steel engraved plate and eight colour blocks and was originally sold at 1s. 6d

 

Date: 1853

 

Approx. size (cm ht x w): 25.5 x 18.5 (Mount)

 

State: On stamped embossed mount as issued

 

Condition: Excellent colours, light toning to mount with a dark spot to right side border
