La Cachucha – Esmeralda – Pepita - La Espanala - La Graciosa - Pera Mena

La Cachucha, one of the most celebrated dances of Spain, was made popular in the middle of the 19th Century by Fanny Elssler, the great Austrian ballerina of the Romantic era. Mlle Elssler performed this dance as part of one of her most successful ballets, Le Diable Boiteux, choreographed by Jean Coralli (1836).

La Esmeralda is a ballet in three acts and five scenes, inspired by the 1831 novel Notre-Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo.

Pepita is most probably Pepita de Oliva, was a Romani Spanish dancer who performed across Europe, popularizing Spanish flamenco dancing and costumes. Despite her official marriage with her dance teacher Juan Antonio Gabriel de la Oliva in 1851, the following year she established a partnership with the British diplomat Lionel Sackville-West with whom she had five children. Her daughter Victoria gave birth to the English writer Vita Sackville-West, who in 1937 published a biography of her grandmother titled Pepita

La Espanala" (often spelled La Espagnola or La Española) refers to a 19th-century dance, commonly represented in lithographs and ballet prints, often featuring dancers in a Spanish-influenced style

La Graciosa is a small, tranquil volcanic island in Spain's Canary Islands, north of Lanzarote known for its vibrant folk dances and street parties that happen during festivals.

Pera Mena possibly refers to Dona Manuela Perea, a famous Spanish dancer known as "La Nena," often depicted in 19th-century art prints alongside her dance partner, Don Felix Garcia,

They were first catalogued in The Baxter Times of the 1920’s and numbered 284 to 289.
