Print: Le Blond Baxter 163. Originally issued by Baxter as CL 193 in 1854. It shows the Great Exhibition building of 1851 after it was moved in 1854 to Crystal Palace in Sydenham with its fountains, and in the foreground the famous ‘concrete dinosaurs’ of Mr. Waterhouse Hawkins and still there today. Baxter also called this print Baxter’s Gems of the Crystal Palace No 3. The Exterior and Gardens from the Railway. The lack of Baxter signature and colouration of the sky confirms this is a Le Blond printing from the Baxter plate.
