Print: Baxter - CL 306 - Initially printed for use as the frontispiece in the pocket book ‘Suttaby's Le Souvenir, 1851’. Baxter then published it separately on his mounts

 

The famous castle on the River Avon. The first ‘castle’ was in wood and built by William the Conqueror in 1068, later rebuilt in stone in the 11th century onwards.
