Print: Baxter - CL 332 – A harder to print to find then you would initially realise as, when found, most of the copies are actually by Le Blond printed some 18 years later.
 
Used on sheets of music "Jullien's Album for 1852" as well being published separately by Baxter
 
Baxter’s 1860 auction catalogue describes the prints as "A chaste and beautiful representation of a meeting of young lovers after a quarrel.  Scene, the garden of a nobleman's mansion; costume, of the XVII century." 
 
The print was produced from the engraved steel plate and eleven colour blocks The music was advertised as "2nd edition, beautifully illustrated with an original subject after Watteau executed in oil colours by Baxter, Patentee." 
 
It was originally sold at 3s.
