Print: Le Blond Baxter – Originally published by Baxter in 1859 and catalogued as - CL 333.

Said to be “copied from the work of an eminent foreign painter (Huet)."  Usually referred to as one of the four ladies - Day Before Marriage, Lovers Letterbox, The Bridesmaid and this.

Although the ‘old’ method of determining whether this is a Baxter or Le Blond version is that in the LBB the ring is coloured when in Baxter it is not but there are easy ways to tell, the most basic is that LB only used one colour red for the flowers on her dress whereas Baxter used two colour blocks.; The single colour block on this copy is enough to determine it is a Le Blond printing.
