Print: Baxter - CL 325  -  Published in Poole's Elegant Pocket Album, 1847, and The Sovereign Pocket Book, 1847 and also separately by Baxter

 

This deep lake, thirty miles long and ten broad, is shown running from right to left, and a mountain is in the distance; a castle that once probably belonged to the Scaligeri, a royal family of Verona - is seen high up on the hill on the left. When in the pocket book the title is engraved under the print with "From a Painting by J. Crouch, Esq."; and "Baxter's Patent Oil Printing, 11, Northampton Square." 

 

It was originally sold at 6d.

State: On Stamped Mount as issued and catalogued by Courtney Lewis as Very rare in this state

 

Condition: The figures ‘94’ neatly written at top of mount and some surface damage to the mount to the right border, else excellent
