Print: This is a full uncut sheet, sheet No 4707, showing eight prints titled in French (with my translations) showing various ‘comical’ scenes : Le Portrait Fe Famille / Family Portrait (A family having their portrait taken – the young lady doesn’t get her good looks from her parents!) - Le Marchand D'oiseaux / The Bird Seller (A man sells a caged bird to two children, whilst another bird takes the opportunity to escape from an open cage) - Un Mauvais Coup / A Bad Move (A young man is stealing a basket of eggs with the owner giving chase, strangely the sign stating the land is ‘Freehold’ is in English) - L'Embarras Du Choix / Spoiled for choice (two well dressed ladies only have one option, to climb over the fence using a ladder) - Le Pecheur D'istrait / The Distracted Fisherman (a well dressed fisherman is so engrossed in his book he hasn’t noticed that someone is stealing his fish) - Les Enfants Terribles / Terrible Children (two children and the family dog wreaks havoc at bathtime) - L'Amazone / The Amazon (How can I describe this…a rather large lady is about to mount a horse, who doesn’t seem too keen on the idea) - Situation Perilleuse / Perilous Situation (A young musician with a lute on his back just about hangs on to his horse as someone else tries to control his runaway pig, duck and dog
Kronheim never gave them titles, so these were attributed to them when they were first listed in The Baxter Times of the 1920’s and at the same time numbered 333 to 340
