Print: Baxter - CL 264 – Not a rare image BUT 95% of the copies you will see are in fact Le Blond Baxters, easy to spot if you are familiar with a genuine Baxter as the gap under the chair in the Le Blond version is vastly reduced where LB’s signature has been trimmed. This is a genuine Baxter, noted by Courtney Lewis in 1924 copies on a stamped mount are ‘very rare’. This genuine Baxter copy is signed on the right under the chair, "G.  Baxter, patentee."

Stated by CL as “It is after a drawing by Kenny Meadows.  This artist was one of the first in modern times to introduce wood engraving for popular illustration.”

On the steel plate in the bottom margin is engraved "Infantine Jealousy.  London: Published Octr. 24th, 1857".  Produced from ten blocks, and was originally sold at 1s. 6d.
