Print:  Baxter CL 4A – The frontispiece to Robert Mudie's sought after book - Natural History of Birds.  Under the print is the above title, and below that “Baxter's Oil Colour Printing, 3, Charterhouse Square, from a painting by T. Landseer".  Thomas Landseer was the brother of Sir Edwin Landseer. This is a variation of CL 4, from the 1834 edition of the book, which shows Baxter’s address as Kings Square.  It is from wood blocks without a keyplate, a very early print

Size (cm ht x w): 11.5 x 7 (image) 19 x 14 (frame)
 

State: On pocket book lettering as issued, over mounted in cream and framed in black / gilt Hogarth type frame
 

Condition: Very good colour, minor spotting,  a couple of chips to the frame
