Print: Le Blond Baxter LB 136 – Originally published by Baxter in 1854.

The cart at the back, the cut corn at her side, the poppies, cornflowers in her hand and the sickle, a small scythe all denote it is harvest-time.

It stated as taken from a painting by Louis but I can’t find a well-known Victorian artist by that name (I could be wrong) but Baxter has a record of crediting quality amateur or jobbing artists if copying their work.

The lack of Baxter’s signature and the fact that it is slightly trimmed to the bottom, removing Le Blonds signature, confirms this is by Le Blond
