Print: Baxter - CL 33 – Published exclusively as the frontispiece to Robert Mudie’s book “Autumn”.

"No subject, whatever can, by any possibility, be chosen, so as to represent the general character of autumn in all places and at all the times when autumnal action occurs, and therefore we have selected one of the blithest of its scenes, as the, subject of our frontispiece - namely, the vintage under the summer skies of Lombardy, in the Vale of Aosta," - Autumn, p. xii.

Under the print is the title, and below that "Printed in Oil Colours by G. Baxter (Patentee), 3, Charterhouse Square. From a painting by George Barnard." Barnard was Professor of Drawing at Rugby School.
