Print: Le Blond Baxter originally issued by Baxter as CL 334 n 1857. Under the print on the steel plate Baxter had engraved ‘View in Switzerland’ but for some reason Baxter then called it Lake Lucerne on all his stamped mount. Le Blond ran with the name on the plate. Le Blond published this by Baxter process and also as a Chromolithograph, as in this example, and it is interesting to compare the two versions. Baxter plate was used to gain the initial impression on the Chromolithographic stone.
The print shows the view from the landing place at Fluelen, looking towards Tell's Chapel.
