Print: Baxter - CL 300 - Used in Suttaby’s Le Souvenir, pocket book for 1852 as well as being sold separately by Baxter.
This well-known view which looks over the River Thames in to London and according to Wikipedia is the only view in England protected by an Act of Parliament. This view would have overlooked another of Baxter’s prints – The Duke of Buccleugh’s residence which sat on the side of the Thames.
When the print is used in the pocket-book under the print is “View from Richmond Hill", "Baxter's Patent Oil Printing"; and "11, Northampton Square."
Produced from eleven blocks, and was originally sold at 6d.
