Print: Baxter CL 91 – This was printed exclusively as the frontispiece to the Rev Moffat's book, Missionary Labours & Scenes in Sothern Africa.

A portrait of the Rev Robert Moffat was printed by Baxter as CL 89 from an original painting by Baxter himself which is now in the National Portrait Gallery in London. The painting shows Moffat bearded but not in the print. Moffat is seen here outside of the mission and again is sporting a full beard, most probably how he would normally be seen when not on one of his rare short visits back to the UK

Moffat was the father in law of the famous explorer David Livingstone who visited Kuruman in the same year this print was published.

Under the print the title and "London, Published by J. Snow, Paternoster Row," and "Printed in Oil Colours by G. Baxter (Patentee), 3, Charterhouse Square."
