Print: Baxter CL 234 – Used extensively on music covers "Holy Family Sacred Melodies" and issued separately by Baxter, it sold in large numbers but so many of the copies you see are actually produced by his son George Baxter Jr, his productions are very inferior. Previously it has been written that these inferior prints are the fathers productions from a worn plate but this is wrong.
Our research describes this print and the father and sons printings in great detail and can be read here https://www.georgebaxter.com/george-baxter-print-the-holy-family
This example is definitely by the father and the dark background and the spelling of the composers name infers it is a print from the later part of his career, circa 1859
