Print: Baxter - CL 224 – This print shows the famous French leader who was beaten at The Battle Of Waterloo in 1815 and died in 1821.


He stands in front of a tricolour, which has on it a large "N."   The "Invalides," which became his last resting-place in 1840, is seen on the right. 


The print was produced from twelve blocks, and was originally sold at 1s. 


Always a popular print but hard to find a genuine copy, many were faked using photography during the early 1900’s. These are commonly seen and as they have a fake Baxter seal under the print usually sold as genuine copies, please see full details here
