Print: Baxter - CL 370. Issued as a frontispiece to the book of the same name published by The Religious Tract Society. It is sought after by Conchologists as well as Baxter collectors.
Under the print, in the centre, in large letters, is "Frontispiece"; and under that, in one line, is "Printed in Oil Colours by G. Baxter (Patentee). Two different versions can be found, with Charterhouse Square or the Northampton Square address. This copy is still in the book as issued and is showing the earlier address. The book is bound in cloth with gilt title on spine and gilt shell motif on front cover. All pages are gold edged

Condition: The book is cloth bound and is in very good condition except that the spine is faded from sun, all hinges, inside and out are in perfect shape, previous owners inscription on inner flyleaf. The frontispiece has excellent colour, as you would expect, light foxing around the pages edges that are not as dark as portrayed in the images.
