Print: Kronheim – This is one of their early prints by the Baxter Process and also one of the largest, its companion, The Wine Tasters is dated 1854 but this print is undated.

When Kronheim moved premises in 1903 they found a small batch of these prints in their storage and advertised them for sale in the contemporary press. As the colours on this example are so pristine this could well be one of these prints that had been stored by the printers for the first 50 years of its life. Please see our article here for more information.

I always think this would make an excellent retirement present for a teacher.
