This is one of the most important prints in the sale and shows Queen Victoria on horseback looking on at the young Prince of Wales (Later Edward VII). Christies sale catalogue states that the man with beard in the centre foreground is Prince Albert but to me this seems more likely to be John Brown, Queen Victoria’s personal attendant.

 

This a complete sheet having the reference no BT 47 – The BT meaning the Baxter Times where Kronheim prints were first catalogued in the 1920’s. The title is in French so it has always been presumed they were printed for the French market. The title is:
