Print: Baxter - CL 49 - Published exclusively in Baxter signature book ‘The Cabinet of Paintings.”

When on the full page there is engraved below the print, the title and under that is "Printed in Oil Colours by G. Baxter (Patentee), from a painting by Mrs. Seyffarth".

The scene is taken from the novel by Sir Walter Scott – “The Heart of Mid-Lothian” first published in 1818. The print shows Jenny, Jeannie or Jeanie Dean on her knees before Queen Caroline, with her are the Duke of Argyle and Lady Suffolk. The print and the others in the book really show how Baxter’s work had advanced since he patented his process two years earlier.
