1452 His Royal Highness Prince Albert
Print: Baxter - CL 204 - This is the earlier and rarer of the two versions of this print and used in some editions of ‘England's Queen, and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha’ by Harrison Corbett Wilson.
The signature is on the right, upon the marble floor, "Baxter's Patent Oil Printing, 11, Northampton Square,"
Soon after its production it was amended and the blue breeches became white with knee length riding boots being the more commonly seen version which sold in large volumes at the time.
On the steel plate above the print is engraved the above title, he was not "the Prince Consort" until 1857 and under the print, "Designed, Engraved, Printed and Published by G. Baxter, Patentee, 11, Northampton Square, October 2nd, 1848,"
