1392 Her Majesty, H.R.H. Prince Albert, and family leaving Kingston Harbour, Ireland
Print: Baxter - CL 278 - Her Majesty, H.R.H. Prince Albert, and family leaving Kingston Harbour, Ireland or The Royal Yacht.
This is the companion print to No. 277, The Landing of Her Majesty and H.R.H. Prince Albert in Ireland which depicts Queen Victoria making her first (and only?) visit to Ireland in August 1849. This print shows the Royal party departing. Both prints where most probably drawn by Baxter himself on the spot
Signed on the left bottom corner, "Baxter's Patent Oil Printing, 11, Northampton Square,"
Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, and the Prince of Wales are seen standing on the paddle-box of the Royal yacht. History records that the Queen from this position ordered the Royal Standard to be lowered three times. Some officers and the rest of the Royal children - Empress Frederick, then Princess Royal, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Alice can be seen on the deck below.
For some reason this print is a lot harder to find than the companion possibly because that print appeared in great numbers on sheets of music
