Print: Baxter CL 343. Published specifically for Humboldt's Views of Nature and shows the snow-capped mountain, the highest peak of the Andes, which was first ascended to a height of 19,300 feet in 1797 by the Prussian traveler Humboldt.
In the bottom margin of the plate is engraved the title and on the right is "Baxter's Patent Oil Colour Printing, xi, Northampton Square". The print is taken from a sketch by Humboldt.
