Lake Garda - BLM (1022)

Print: Baxter - CL 325. A print of the famous lake in Northern Italy and taken from a Painting by J. Crouch. For some reason we find this print is one of Baxter’s harder to find small views. Published separately by Baxter and also used as frontispieces to Poole's Elegant Pocket Album, 1847, and The Sovereign Pocket Book, 1847. Date: 1847 Size (cm ht x w): 5.4 x 9 (image) 8.7 x 12.6 (mount) State: On a Blue Line Mount as issued by Baxter which has been trimmed. Some glue residue on the back show that this has been probably been mounted into a Victorian parlour Album at some time, which is exactly the purpose Baxter had for these Blue Line Mounts Condition: Very good
