Paul & Virginia (1006)

Print: Baxter - CL 151 - Paul and Virginia. It is usually called "The large 'Paul and Virginia” as CL 150 is a small version showing a night time scene published 2 years earlier. Signed on the left, low down in the ground, "Baxter's Patent Oil Printing, 11, Northampton Square," in three lines very close to the bottom and often slightly trimmed. This example has rounded top corners so intended to be issued on a mount, extensively used on sheets of music by Jullien, his "Cadeau" and "Paul et Virginie" Valse when the print is cut oval. Date: 1850 Size (cm ht x w): 12.2 x 7 State: Tipped on to card and over mounted in cream Condition: Excellent, we feel you couldn’t find a better example
