A young lady is depicted in a red hood and cape as per the children’s story, it is in reality a portrait of Lady Rachel Eveline Russell (a daughter of a Duke of Bedford and afterwards wife of Lord J. W. Butler) when six years old, and is from a painting executed by Sir Edward Landseer between 1823 and 1839. Published by Baxter Dec. 9, 1856. The print was produced from eight blocks, and was originally sold at 1s. 6d.
